Getting Started

Uninstall KineticHub

Learn what happens when KineticHub is deactivated or deleted, how to protect existing page content, and how to remove the Free or PRO version safely.

Before you begin

Deactivating or deleting KineticHub does not automatically remove the KineticHub blocks from your WordPress pages.

However, the plugin is required to register the blocks, load their styles and scripts, and render their interactive effects correctly.

Before removing KineticHub from an active website:

  • Create a complete website backup
  • Identify pages that contain KineticHub blocks
  • Review important desktop and mobile layouts
  • Replace KineticHub blocks when you no longer want to use them
  • Deactivate the PRO license before permanently removing KineticHub PRO

Do not uninstall the plugin from a production website without first checking how it is being used.

Deactivate or delete?

Deactivation and deletion have different effects.

Deactivate KineticHub

Deactivating the plugin stops KineticHub from running, but keeps its files installed on the website.

You can activate it again later.

Deactivation is useful when:

  • Testing a plugin conflict
  • Temporarily disabling KineticHub
  • Switching from KineticHub Free to KineticHub PRO
  • Troubleshooting an update
  • Comparing frontend behavior with and without the plugin

Delete KineticHub

Deleting the plugin removes its files from the WordPress installation.

KineticHub plugin settings may also be removed during the uninstall process.

The KineticHub blocks stored inside pages and posts are not automatically removed from the page content.

However, those blocks may no longer render or remain editable correctly while the plugin is missing.

What happens to existing blocks?

WordPress stores block content and attributes inside the page or post where the block was added.

When KineticHub is deactivated or deleted:

  • The saved block data remains in the page
  • WordPress may display the block as missing or unavailable in the editor
  • Interactive behavior stops running
  • Block-specific CSS and JavaScript are no longer loaded
  • Dynamic blocks may no longer render on the frontend
  • Some static content may remain visible without its original effects or styling

The exact result depends on the KineticHub block and how its frontend output is generated.

Reactivating the same or a compatible KineticHub version should normally restore the blocks.

Find pages that use KineticHub

Before uninstalling the plugin, review the pages where KineticHub is likely to be used.

Check pages containing:

  • Animated hero sections
  • Interactive buttons
  • Split-scroll layouts
  • Before-and-after comparisons
  • Animated typography
  • Audio players
  • Video modals
  • Marquees
  • Motion backgrounds
  • Cursor reveal effects

Open each important page in both the WordPress editor and the frontend.

For a large website, also review reusable patterns, templates, template parts, and synced patterns.

Replace KineticHub blocks

When permanently removing KineticHub, replace its blocks with standard WordPress blocks or another supported solution.

For example:

  • Replace Kinetic Typography with a Heading or Paragraph block
  • Replace Kinetic Magnetic Button with a Buttons block
  • Replace Kinetic Box with a Group block
  • Replace Kinetic Video Modal with a supported video or embed block
  • Replace Kinetic Marquee with static text, images, or a gallery
  • Replace Kinetic Split Scroll with Columns or Group blocks

Do not simply delete the plugin first and assume that the page layout will remain unchanged.

Replace and verify each block before removing KineticHub.

Deactivate KineticHub

Go to:

Plugins → Installed Plugins

Locate KineticHub and select:

Deactivate

After deactivation:

  1. Open an important page
  2. Check the WordPress editor
  3. Preview the frontend
  4. Confirm whether any content or layout is affected

To restore KineticHub, return to the Plugins screen and select Activate.

Delete KineticHub Free

To permanently remove KineticHub Free:

  1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins
  2. Locate KineticHub – Animated Blocks
  3. Select Deactivate
  4. Review important pages
  5. Select Delete
  6. Confirm the deletion

WordPress will remove the KineticHub Free plugin files.

Stored KineticHub settings may also be removed by the uninstall process.

Delete KineticHub PRO

Before deleting KineticHub PRO, disconnect the website from the license when the activation will no longer be used.

Open the available KineticHub or Freemius account screen and deactivate the license for the current website.

You can also manage active websites through:

customers.freemius.com

Then:

  1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins
  2. Locate KineticHub PRO
  3. Select Deactivate
  4. Review important pages
  5. Select Delete
  6. Confirm the deletion

Deactivating the license first makes the activation available for another website, depending on your plan.

Switching from Free to PRO

Do not treat a normal Free-to-PRO upgrade as a complete uninstall.

Use this process:

  1. Deactivate KineticHub Free
  2. Install KineticHub PRO
  3. Activate KineticHub PRO
  4. Activate the license
  5. Check existing KineticHub pages
  6. Delete the inactive Free package

Your existing KineticHub blocks should remain in place because both editions use the same block structure.

Do not activate both packages at the same time.

Switching from PRO to Free

Moving from KineticHub PRO back to Free requires additional care.

PRO-only settings and effects may no longer be available after the Free version is activated.

Before switching:

  1. Create a complete backup
  2. Review every page using KineticHub
  3. Replace PRO-only effects with Free alternatives
  4. Deactivate the PRO license
  5. Deactivate KineticHub PRO
  6. Install and activate KineticHub Free
  7. Clear all caches
  8. Test the editor and frontend

Pages using only Free-compatible settings should continue to work.

Blocks that depend on PRO-only functionality may look different or lose premium effects.

Clear caches after removal

After deactivating, deleting, or replacing KineticHub, clear:

  • Browser cache
  • WordPress cache
  • LiteSpeed or another caching-plugin cache
  • Server cache
  • CDN cache
  • Combined or generated CSS and JavaScript files

This prevents removed KineticHub assets from remaining temporarily visible.

Then check the website in a private browser window.

Troubleshooting

WordPress shows missing or unsupported blocks

This means the page contains KineticHub blocks while the plugin is inactive or missing.

Reactivate KineticHub or replace the affected blocks before permanently removing the plugin.

Do not select Convert to HTML unless you understand how the saved block markup will be affected.

A page is blank or incomplete

Some KineticHub blocks use server-side rendering or plugin-generated frontend markup.

Reactivate KineticHub and check whether the content returns.

Then replace the affected block before attempting to remove the plugin again.

Animations or styles remain after deletion

Cached CSS or JavaScript may still be active.

Clear all website, optimization, browser, and CDN caches.

Also regenerate any combined CSS or JavaScript files created by performance plugins.

The license activation is still in use

Sign in to the Freemius Customer Portal and open your KineticHub license.

Remove the old website from the active installations list.

This is useful when the plugin was deleted before the license was deactivated.

KineticHub settings disappeared after reinstalling

The uninstall process may remove saved global plugin settings when the plugin is deleted.

Deleting the plugin is different from temporarily deactivating it.

Restore the website backup or configure the dashboard settings again after reinstalling KineticHub.

Recommended removal workflow

For a production website, use this order:

  1. Create a full backup
  2. Identify every page using KineticHub
  3. Replace the KineticHub blocks
  4. Test replacement layouts on staging
  5. Deactivate the PRO license, when applicable
  6. Deactivate KineticHub
  7. Review the frontend
  8. Delete the plugin
  9. Clear all caches
  10. Test desktop and mobile pages again
