KineticHub Free vs PRO

Compare KineticHub Free and KineticHub PRO to understand which blocks, effects, customization options, updates, and support features are included with each version.

Overview

KineticHub is available in two versions:

  • KineticHub Free, available from the official WordPress plugin directory
  • KineticHub PRO, available from the KineticHub website and delivered through Freemius

Both versions are designed for the native WordPress block editor and use the same KineticHub block collection.

The Free version provides the essential tools needed to create animated and interactive Gutenberg layouts. KineticHub PRO extends those blocks with additional motion effects, advanced styling controls, interaction options, and premium support.

KineticHub Free

KineticHub Free is suitable for users who want to add modern motion and interactive elements to WordPress without purchasing a license.

The Free version includes the core KineticHub block collection:

  • Kinetic Ambient Aura
  • Kinetic Audio Player
  • Kinetic Before/After
  • Kinetic Box
  • Kinetic Cursor Reveal
  • Kinetic Hero Mesh
  • Kinetic Magnetic Button
  • Kinetic Marquee
  • Kinetic Scroll Divider
  • Kinetic Split Scroll

  • Performance-focused frontend rendering
  • Access to public documentation

Do Free and PRO use different blocks?

No.

KineticHub Free and KineticHub PRO use the same block names and block structure.

For example, a page created with the Free version can continue using the same Kinetic Typography, Kinetic Box, or Kinetic Hero Mesh block after upgrading to PRO.

You do not need to recreate your pages when moving from Free to PRO.

After installing and activating KineticHub PRO, the additional premium controls become available inside the existing blocks.

Can a PRO page return to the Free version?

Pages built using the core Free settings should continue to work with KineticHub Free.

However, effects or settings available only in PRO may no longer be rendered or editable after the premium plugin is removed.

Before downgrading a production website:

  1. Create a complete website backup
  2. Review pages that use KineticHub blocks
  3. Replace any PRO-only effects with Free alternatives
  4. Test the pages after activating the Free version

Do not remove KineticHub blocks from the editor unless you also want to remove their content from the page.

Do I need both plugins active?

No.

KineticHub PRO is the complete premium package. You do not need to keep KineticHub Free active alongside it.

When upgrading:

  1. Deactivate KineticHub Free
  2. Install and activate KineticHub PRO
  3. Activate your PRO license
  4. Confirm that your existing blocks still work
  5. Delete the inactive Free plugin package

Do not activate both packages at the same time.

Which version should I use?

Choose KineticHub Free when you:

  • Are testing KineticHub for the first time
  • Need the core animated block collection
  • Are building a simple website
  • Do not need advanced motion or styling controls
  • Do not require premium support

Choose KineticHub PRO when you:

  • Need more advanced visual effects
  • Want additional animation and interaction options
  • Need greater control over block appearance
  • Build client, agency, portfolio, or commercial websites
  • Want premium updates and support

You can begin with KineticHub Free and upgrade later without rebuilding your existing pages.

How to identify PRO settings

When KineticHub PRO is installed and the license is active, additional settings become available in the block inspector sidebar.

PRO controls may appear inside sections such as:

  • Animation
  • Interaction
  • Style
  • Effects
  • Layout
  • Responsive settings

The available options depend on the selected KineticHub block.

If expected PRO controls are missing, confirm that:

  • KineticHub PRO is installed
  • The premium plugin is active
  • The license is connected to the current website
  • KineticHub Free is not active at the same time
  • WordPress and browser caches have been cleared

Updates

KineticHub Free receives updates through the standard WordPress plugin update system.

KineticHub PRO receives updates through Freemius after the license has been activated.

Keeping KineticHub updated provides:

  • Bug fixes
  • WordPress compatibility improvements
  • Performance improvements
  • Security fixes
  • New or improved block features

Create a recent backup before applying updates on an important production website.
