Troubleshooting

PRO Features Are Missing

Restore missing KineticHub PRO controls and effects by checking the installed package, license connection, plugin version, editor state, site activation, and possible update or security conflicts.

Overview

KineticHub Free and KineticHub PRO use different plugin packages.

The Free package contains the complete Free feature set. KineticHub PRO contains the additional premium controls, effects, and frontend functionality.

When PRO features are missing, common causes include:

  • KineticHub Free is installed instead of KineticHub PRO
  • The PRO package is installed but inactive
  • The PRO license has not been activated
  • The license is connected to another website
  • The license activation limit has been reached
  • The website was migrated, cloned, or moved to another domain
  • An older PRO package is installed
  • The editor was already open before PRO was activated
  • WordPress is loading outdated cached JavaScript
  • The block control appears only after another setting is enabled
  • The selected option is not included in the installed edition or version
  • A security or networking rule prevents communication with Freemius
  • The PRO plugin update did not complete correctly

First determine whether all PRO controls are missing or whether the problem affects only one block or option.

Understand the Free and PRO packages

KineticHub Free and KineticHub PRO are separate distributable packages.

Installing or activating a license does not download missing premium source code into the Free plugin.

The correct process is:

  1. Purchase KineticHub PRO
  2. Download the KineticHub PRO ZIP package
  3. Install the PRO package in WordPress
  4. Activate KineticHub PRO
  5. Connect or activate the license
  6. Reload the WordPress editor
  7. Confirm that the premium controls are available

When WordPress.org KineticHub Free remains installed, make sure it is not active at the same time as the PRO package.

The current KineticHub PRO package is designed to deactivate the public Free package during activation, but you should still verify the result under Plugins → Installed Plugins.

A license does not convert the Free ZIP

Entering a license key while only the WordPress.org Free package is installed does not add the premium block code.

The Free package may display information explaining that additional options are available separately in KineticHub PRO.

This is expected.

To access premium functionality, install the official KineticHub PRO package downloaded through the purchase account.

Confirm the installed plugin edition

Go to:

Plugins → Installed Plugins

Locate the active KineticHub plugin.

Confirm whether it is:

  • KineticHub Free
  • KineticHub PRO

The exact displayed name can vary slightly between releases, but the premium package should clearly identify itself as the PRO edition.

Also check the plugin folder when technical inspection is necessary.

Typical package directories are similar to:

/wp-content/plugins/kinetichub/

for Free, and:

/wp-content/plugins/kinetichub-premium/

for PRO.

Do not rename the plugin folder manually.

Freemius, WordPress updates, and plugin activation depend on the correct package structure.

Confirm that KineticHub PRO is active

Installing the ZIP file is not enough.

Under:

Plugins → Installed Plugins

confirm that KineticHub PRO shows as active.

When the plugin is inactive:

  • Premium controls are not registered
  • Premium frontend effects are not initialized
  • The KineticHub dashboard may belong to the remaining Free package
  • Existing premium blocks may display only their Free behavior

Activate KineticHub PRO and reload the administration area.

Do not keep both editions active

KineticHub Free and KineticHub PRO register the same block names and shared plugin components.

They should not remain active simultaneously.

Running both packages can cause:

  • Duplicate classes
  • Duplicate block registration
  • Mixed Free and PRO editor assets
  • Incorrect dashboard status
  • JavaScript errors
  • Unexpected frontend rendering
  • Update confusion

After activating PRO, confirm that KineticHub Free is inactive.

You may keep the inactive Free package temporarily until PRO has been tested, but do not reactivate it while PRO is active.

Confirm the PRO version

Check the version shown beside KineticHub PRO.

Compare it with the latest version available in your Freemius Customer Portal or KineticHub account.

An older PRO version may not include:

  • A recently added premium option
  • A new block setting
  • A compatibility fix
  • A revised editor panel
  • A new frontend effect
  • A control shown in newer documentation

Do not compare a current documentation screenshot with an older installed plugin without first checking the version.

Download the correct PRO package

KineticHub PRO downloads and license management are provided through Freemius.

Use the purchase email or Freemius Customer Portal to download the official premium package.

Do not install:

  • The WordPress.org Free ZIP
  • An old local backup without checking its version
  • An extracted source-development directory
  • A ZIP containing another ZIP instead of the plugin files
  • A renamed Free package
  • An unofficial download

The ZIP should install as the KineticHub PRO plugin.

Check the package after extracting it

You normally upload the ZIP directly through WordPress.

When manual inspection is necessary, extracting the package should reveal the plugin directory containing files such as:

  • kinetichub.php
  • build/
  • assets/
  • includes/
  • vendor/
  • Plugin documentation and license files

Avoid creating an additional folder level such as:

kinetichub-premium/kinetichub-premium/kinetichub.php

An incorrectly nested manual upload may prevent WordPress from recognizing the plugin correctly.

Activate the PRO license

KineticHub PRO uses Freemius for license verification, account management, premium updates, and downloads.

After activating the PRO plugin, follow the Freemius activation or connection screen.

Depending on the current plugin and Freemius interface, the license area may appear:

  • During plugin activation
  • Under the KineticHub administration menu
  • On an Account or license page
  • Through an activation notice

Use the email address and license information associated with the KineticHub PRO purchase.

After activation, reload the WordPress administration area.

Confirm that the license is connected

A successful license connection should identify the current website and paid plan.

Check for a status such as:

  • Active
  • Connected
  • Licensed
  • Premium plan active

The exact wording can vary with the Freemius interface.

When the page still shows:

  • Activate License
  • Connect
  • Upgrade
  • Free plan
  • License unavailable
  • Activation failed

the website may not yet be recognized as an active PRO installation.

Reload the complete editor

The Gutenberg editor loads its block scripts and controls when the editor page opens.

An editor tab that was already open before PRO activation can continue using the Free block scripts.

After activating PRO:

  1. Save any unsaved page changes
  2. Close or fully reload the editor tab
  3. Reload the WordPress administration area
  4. Open the page again
  5. Select the KineticHub block
  6. Review its Inspector controls

Closing only the sidebar or block inserter is not sufficient.

The complete editor page must reload.

Open a new page for testing

To separate the plugin from an old editor session:

  1. Go to Pages → Add New Page
  2. Insert a fresh KineticHub block
  3. Open its settings panels
  4. Compare the controls with the existing page

When PRO controls appear in a fresh block but not in an older block, check:

  • The saved block configuration
  • Conditional control visibility
  • Block recovery warnings
  • Page-specific JavaScript errors
  • An old reusable or synced pattern
  • Cached editor data

Determine the scope of the problem

Identify whether the issue affects:

  • Every KineticHub block
  • One KineticHub block
  • One settings panel
  • One individual control
  • The editor only
  • The frontend only
  • One website in a multi-site license
  • A migrated or cloned website

All PRO features are missing

Check:

  • Installed package
  • Plugin activation
  • License connection
  • PRO version
  • Editor reload
  • Plugin conflicts
  • Freemius communication

Only one block is missing PRO controls

Check:

  • The block’s available premium features
  • Conditional controls
  • Installed version
  • JavaScript errors
  • Whether the correct block is selected
  • Whether the documentation matches that version

Controls appear, but the frontend effect is missing

The package and editor recognize PRO.

Continue checking:

  • Saved attributes
  • Frontend JavaScript
  • Cached CSS
  • Reduced Motion
  • Mobile behavior
  • Optimization
  • Parent layout
  • Block-specific requirements

Some controls are conditional

Not every setting is visible at all times.

A premium control may appear only after enabling a related parent option.

Examples can include:

  • Waveform style after enabling the waveform
  • Sticky positioning after enabling sticky or floating behavior
  • Mobile seek behavior after enabling the seekbar
  • Advanced overlay settings after enabling an overlay
  • Hover settings after choosing a compatible hover effect
  • Media transition controls after adding multiple media items
  • Icon settings after enabling an icon
  • Shadow settings after enabling a shadow
  • Animation-specific controls after selecting that animation

Open each relevant settings panel and enable the parent option before concluding that the child control is missing.

Check collapsed settings panels

Gutenberg Inspector controls are divided into collapsible panels.

A premium option may be located under:

  • Layout
  • Animation
  • Interaction
  • Mobile
  • Media
  • Styling
  • Advanced
  • Performance
  • Shadow and Depth
  • Visibility

Expand each panel for the selected block.

Also confirm that you selected the KineticHub block itself rather than:

  • Its parent Group
  • A nested paragraph
  • An image inside the block
  • A child button
  • The complete template
  • Another nearby block

Use WordPress List View to select the correct block.

Check whether the feature belongs to that block

KineticHub PRO adds different advanced functionality to different blocks.

A feature available in one block may not exist in another.

For example, a premium option related to:

  • Sticky audio
  • Advanced mesh rendering
  • Typography animation
  • Media transitions
  • Magnetic behavior
  • Blend modes
  • Mobile fallback
  • Shadow or glow styling

is not automatically available across all 12 blocks.

Review the documentation for the specific block and installed version.

Verify the plan or purchase

Confirm that the account contains a valid KineticHub PRO purchase.

Check:

  • Product name
  • Plan name
  • License status
  • Number of licensed sites
  • Purchase email
  • Subscription status
  • Download access

A purchase for another product does not activate KineticHub PRO.

When several email addresses are used, verify that you signed into the Freemius account connected to the correct order.

Check the site activation limit

A KineticHub PRO license may include a specific number of website activations.

When the activation limit has been reached, a new website may fail to connect.

Open the Freemius Customer Portal and review the websites connected to the license.

Deactivate an old, unused, development, or replaced website when appropriate.

Do not deactivate a production site that still requires updates and support unless you understand the effect on that installation.

Website migration and domain changes

A license can remain associated with the previous website after:

  • Moving from staging to production
  • Changing the domain
  • Changing from HTTP to HTTPS
  • Cloning the website
  • Restoring a backup
  • Moving between hosting providers
  • Creating a local development copy

Possible symptoms include:

  • PRO worked before the migration
  • The account shows the old domain
  • The new domain requests activation
  • The activation limit is reached
  • Updates are unavailable on the new domain

Review the connected websites in Freemius.

Deactivate the obsolete installation and activate the current website when required.

Staging and development websites

A cloned staging site may also attempt to use the license.

Before activating a license on multiple copies, check the number of sites included in the plan.

Keep track of:

  • Production domain
  • Staging domain
  • Local development copy
  • Old hosting copy
  • Temporary migration domain

Remove obsolete activations after testing is complete.

Check the purchase email

Freemius can associate licenses, downloads, and account access with the purchase email.

When the correct license is not visible:

  • Search the purchase inbox
  • Check spam or junk folders
  • Search for KineticHub or Freemius
  • Confirm the email address used during checkout
  • Use the Freemius account recovery process
  • Check whether another team member purchased the license

Do not create repeated accounts before confirming which email owns the purchase.

Check subscription and license status

A cancelled subscription, expired renewal, refunded purchase, payment issue, or manually deactivated license may affect:

  • Download access
  • Premium updates
  • Account status
  • Support entitlement
  • License activation

Review the current status in Freemius.

The exact behavior of an already installed plugin can depend on the license and product state, so use the account status as the authoritative reference.

For billing, invoice, renewal, refund, or payment questions, use the Freemius account and billing support path.

Verify outbound network access

The WordPress website must be able to communicate with the Freemius service for account and license operations.

Communication can be blocked by:

  • Hosting firewall
  • Security plugin
  • Outbound HTTP restrictions
  • DNS failure
  • SSL certificate problem
  • Proxy configuration
  • Server timeout
  • Content filtering
  • Maintenance environment without internet access

Check:

Tools → Site Health

Review critical REST API or loopback errors.

Also check hosting and security logs for blocked requests to Freemius services.

Do not disable the complete firewall permanently.

Allow only the required trusted communication after confirming the cause.

Check WordPress REST API access

KineticHub dashboard settings use authenticated WordPress REST requests.

A blocked REST API can cause dashboard controls or settings to fail even when the license itself is valid.

Possible symptoms include:

  • Settings do not save
  • The dashboard remains in a loading state
  • A block toggle reverts
  • The interface reports a permission error
  • Network requests return 401 or 403

Check:

  • Expired WordPress login session
  • REST API restrictions
  • Security plugin settings
  • Invalid nonce
  • Administrator permissions
  • Server firewall rules

Reload WordPress and sign in again before testing.

Check administrator permissions

License activation and plugin management normally require an administrator account.

A user with a lower role may be able to edit pages but not:

  • Activate plugins
  • Access the license page
  • Change global KineticHub settings
  • Install PRO updates
  • Review account information

Test with a WordPress administrator account.

Custom role plugins can also remove plugin-management permissions.

Clear browser and WordPress caches

After installing or activating PRO, clear:

  • Browser cache
  • WordPress page cache
  • Object cache
  • Generated JavaScript
  • Generated CSS
  • Server cache
  • CDN cache
  • Administration optimization cache

Then reload Gutenberg in a private browser window where appropriate.

Page cache is less likely to control editor panels directly, but browser, object, and administration asset caches can retain old scripts.

Clear generated JavaScript

The Free and PRO packages contain different editor code.

An optimization system may continue serving an older combined JavaScript bundle after the package changes.

Clear:

  • Combined JavaScript
  • Minified JavaScript
  • Delayed-script cache
  • Guest optimization
  • Administration optimization
  • CDN JavaScript cache

Then reload the complete editor.

When the Free controls remain after installing PRO, inspect the editor Network panel to confirm which plugin directory supplies the block script.

Inspect the editor Network panel

Open browser developer tools while Gutenberg is open.

Select the Network panel and reload the editor.

Search for:

  • kinetichub
  • The affected block name
  • index.js
  • Block editor scripts

Confirm that scripts are loading from the KineticHub PRO plugin directory.

When the editor loads scripts from the Free directory, check:

  • Free package still active
  • Old generated JavaScript
  • CDN cache
  • Failed PRO script request
  • Incorrect plugin installation
  • Duplicate plugin directories

Inspect the browser console

Check the editor Console for:

  • Duplicate block registration
  • Duplicate class or function errors
  • Missing KineticHub scripts
  • Undefined variables
  • Freemius-related errors
  • React or Gutenberg errors
  • Failed REST requests
  • Errors from another plugin

A JavaScript error can stop a settings panel before all controls are displayed.

Record the first complete error before changing plugins.

Check for duplicate plugin directories

Manual installations can leave several copies such as:

kinetichub/
kinetichub-old/
kinetichub-premium/
kinetichub-premium-old/

Inactive copies normally should not load, but they create confusion during updates and troubleshooting.

Under Plugins → Installed Plugins, confirm which directory is active.

Remove obsolete copies only after:

  • Creating a backup
  • Confirming the active PRO package
  • Confirming the current version
  • Testing the website

Do not delete the only working package.

Check after updating from Free to PRO

Use this sequence:

  1. Back up the website
  2. Install KineticHub PRO
  3. Activate KineticHub PRO
  4. Confirm KineticHub Free is inactive
  5. Activate or connect the license
  6. Confirm the current PRO version
  7. Clear generated JavaScript and caches
  8. Reload Gutenberg completely
  9. Open a new test page
  10. Test an existing page
  11. Test the frontend while logged out

Do not immediately delete the inactive Free package before confirming that PRO operates correctly.

Check after updating KineticHub PRO

When PRO controls disappear after an update:

  1. Confirm that the update completed
  2. Confirm that PRO remains active
  3. Confirm the displayed version
  4. Check the license connection
  5. Reload WordPress
  6. Clear generated JavaScript
  7. Clear browser cache
  8. Open a new editor page
  9. Check browser errors
  10. Verify the plugin files

An interrupted update can leave incomplete block assets.

Reinstall KineticHub PRO safely

Reinstall the PRO package when:

  • Files are missing
  • An update was interrupted
  • Scripts return 404
  • The package is incomplete
  • The wrong ZIP was installed
  • The version number does not match the expected release

Before reinstalling:

  1. Create a full backup
  2. Record the current version
  3. Confirm the purchase account
  4. Download a clean official PRO ZIP
  5. Save unsaved page changes
  6. Deactivate the incorrect package when necessary
  7. Install the clean package
  8. Activate PRO
  9. Reconnect the license when requested
  10. Clear caches
  11. Test the editor and frontend

Replacing plugin files should not remove KineticHub block content saved in pages.

Existing pages created with PRO

An existing page can retain saved premium attributes when the PRO package is unavailable.

However, the Free package does not contain the complete premium editor and frontend implementation.

Possible symptoms include:

  • Premium controls disappear
  • The effect falls back to Free behavior
  • An advanced visual no longer appears
  • The editor displays only Free options
  • The page looks different from when PRO was active

Restore the correct PRO package before editing or resaving the affected blocks.

Do not remove or rebuild the blocks until the premium environment has been restored.

PRO controls appear, but the effect is still Free

When premium controls are visible but the frontend appears unchanged:

  1. Change one obvious premium setting
  2. Update the page
  3. Clear page and generated asset caches
  4. Open the frontend while logged out
  5. Check the block-specific frontend script
  6. Check reduced motion
  7. Check mobile behavior
  8. Disable optimization temporarily
  9. Inspect the saved block attributes
  10. Check browser console errors

This is normally a rendering or cache issue rather than a missing license interface.

Documentation screenshots do not match

The documentation may show:

  • A newer plugin version
  • A different block configuration
  • Controls hidden under a collapsed panel
  • A PRO-only setting
  • A setting that appears conditionally
  • A redesigned interface
  • A desktop panel viewed on a wider screen

Before reporting a missing control, compare:

  • Plugin edition
  • Plugin version
  • Block name
  • Parent option
  • Selected animation or layout
  • Free versus PRO documentation
  • Desktop versus mobile settings

A feature was removed or renamed

Plugin interfaces can evolve.

A control may be:

  • Renamed
  • Moved to another panel
  • Replaced with a more general control
  • Available only for another effect
  • Temporarily unavailable in one version
  • Corrected after a compatibility issue

Check the changelog and current block documentation.

Do not rely only on an old screenshot, tutorial, or cached search result.

Multisite considerations

On WordPress Multisite, plugin activation and license behavior can differ depending on:

  • Network activation
  • Individual site activation
  • Administrator permissions
  • License plan
  • Domain mapping
  • Subsite configuration

Test the specific subsite where the KineticHub block is being edited.

When licensing behavior is unclear, collect the network setup details and contact KineticHub PRO support before changing activations across the network.

Plugin conflicts

Other plugins can interfere with:

  • Freemius account pages
  • Editor JavaScript
  • REST requests
  • Plugin activation
  • Script optimization
  • User capabilities
  • Security rules

Test on staging by temporarily disabling:

  • Security plugins
  • Administration optimization
  • Script combination
  • REST restrictions
  • Role-management plugins
  • Other block suites that produce editor errors

Keep KineticHub PRO active during the test.

Theme conflicts

A theme normally should not remove KineticHub Inspector controls.

However, theme editor scripts or JavaScript errors can interrupt Gutenberg.

Test a fresh page with a default WordPress theme on staging when:

  • The block editor crashes
  • Settings panels do not finish loading
  • Console errors reference theme editor scripts
  • The issue affects several third-party blocks

When only the frontend effect is missing, also inspect theme CSS and parent layout.

Do not paste license keys into public support

A KineticHub PRO license key is private account information.

Do not include the complete key in:

  • WordPress.org support threads
  • Screenshots
  • Public GitHub issues
  • Social media posts
  • Public videos
  • Documentation comments

For support, provide:

  • Purchase email
  • Order reference when available
  • Last few license characters only when requested
  • Website domain
  • Current status shown by Freemius

Send sensitive information only through the official private support channel.

Recommended troubleshooting sequence

Use this order:

  1. Confirm that the PRO ZIP is installed
  2. Confirm that KineticHub PRO is active
  3. Confirm that KineticHub Free is inactive
  4. Confirm the installed PRO version
  5. Activate or reconnect the license
  6. Verify the correct purchase account
  7. Check the website activation limit
  8. Reload the complete WordPress editor
  9. Test a fresh KineticHub block
  10. Expand all relevant settings panels
  11. Enable any required parent option
  12. Clear browser and generated JavaScript caches
  13. Inspect which plugin directory supplies editor scripts
  14. Check Console and Network errors
  15. Check outbound Freemius communication
  16. Check WordPress REST access
  17. Reinstall a clean official PRO package when files are incomplete
  18. Test plugin conflicts on staging
  19. Contact KineticHub PRO support with the collected information

Troubleshooting

I purchased PRO, but only Free settings appear

Confirm that you installed the separate KineticHub PRO ZIP.

A license does not add premium code to the WordPress.org Free package.

KineticHub PRO is installed but inactive

Activate it under Plugins → Installed Plugins.

Then confirm that KineticHub Free is inactive and reload Gutenberg.

PRO is active, but the license screen still asks me to connect

Use the purchase email and license associated with the KineticHub PRO order.

Check the Freemius Customer Portal and website activation limit.

The license worked before migrating the website

The old domain may still be connected.

Review site activations in Freemius, deactivate the obsolete installation, and connect the current domain.

The activation limit has been reached

Remove an unused website from the license through Freemius or upgrade to a plan with more activations.

Do not remove a production activation accidentally.

All premium controls disappeared after an update

Confirm that WordPress did not replace or activate the Free package.

Check the active plugin name, version, license connection, and loaded editor script paths.

Clear generated JavaScript.

One premium control is missing

Check whether:

  • The parent option is disabled
  • The settings panel is collapsed
  • The documentation refers to another version
  • The feature belongs to another block
  • A JavaScript error interrupted the panel
  • The control is available only with a compatible effect

Premium controls appear on a new block but not an old block

Check the old block’s saved configuration and parent options.

Also reload the page and check for block validation warnings.

Do not recreate the block until the saved configuration has been inspected.

PRO controls appear, but the frontend effect does not

The license and editor are probably working.

Check page cache, frontend JavaScript, optimization, reduced motion, mobile settings, and the block’s required content.

The KineticHub dashboard says PRO, but Gutenberg looks Free

Reload the complete editor and clear browser or generated JavaScript caches.

Inspect whether Gutenberg loads block scripts from the Free or PRO plugin directory.

Gutenberg shows duplicate block errors

Confirm that Free and PRO are not both active.

Check for duplicate or manually renamed plugin copies.

The license page cannot connect

Check outbound HTTP access, DNS, SSL, firewall rules, security plugins, and hosting restrictions.

Review WordPress Site Health.

The license is active, but updates are unavailable

Confirm the subscription and account status in Freemius.

Also check whether WordPress can communicate with the update service.

I cannot access the license settings

Use a WordPress administrator account.

Check custom role and security-plugin restrictions.

The account contains no KineticHub download

Confirm that you are signed in with the email used for purchase.

Search the purchase email for KineticHub and Freemius messages.

Existing PRO pages changed after activating Free

Restore KineticHub PRO before editing or resaving those blocks.

The Free package does not contain all premium rendering functionality.

Reinstalling PRO did not help

Check:

  • Correct package
  • Correct version
  • License status
  • Script paths
  • Browser console
  • REST requests
  • Hosting firewall
  • Plugin conflict
  • Incomplete caches

Collect the diagnostic information and contact support.

Information to collect for support

Before contacting KineticHub PRO support, collect:

  • KineticHub PRO version
  • WordPress version
  • PHP version
  • Website URL
  • Purchase email
  • License status shown by Freemius
  • Plan or site limit
  • Active plugin name
  • Whether Free is also installed or active
  • Missing block or control
  • Screenshot of the Plugins screen
  • Screenshot of the KineticHub account or license status
  • Screenshot of the missing settings panel
  • Browser Console errors
  • Failed Network requests
  • Whether a fresh block shows the control
  • Whether the issue began after an update or migration
  • Whether generated JavaScript was cleared
  • Whether the site can reach Freemius
  • Whether the problem continues with other plugins disabled on staging

Hide or crop:

  • Complete license keys
  • Passwords
  • Payment details
  • Private access credentials
  • Sensitive account information

Next step

Continue with Test for Theme or Plugin Conflicts when KineticHub Free or PRO is installed correctly but another plugin, the active theme, custom code, or an optimization system appears to interfere with the editor or frontend.
